Product: Mounting Skids (Prototype)
Application: Industrial Tidal & Sewerage Networks
Sectors: Renewable
Location: Australia
Milo Steel makes mounting skids for industrial tidal and sewerage networks. The prototype turbine skid frame we designed for Kinetic NRG made use of stainless assembly fasteners and profiled plates. It is treated with hot-dip galvanisation to protect it from corrosion. All the welding requirements are done in accordance with AS1554 for stainless steel and AS1665 for aluminium. Overall, Milo Steel’s fabrications are compliant with the strict requirements of AS/NZS ISO 3834.
Mounting skids are assemblies that are prefabricated in factories or workshops before they are transported to and installed at the site. Shop welding can ensure a better quality of products as they are made in a controlled environment. Welders also have more freedom of movement in the shop than at the construction site, hence ensuring they can work more quickly and properly. Other works at the site can proceed simultaneously, speeding up the construction period.
