Milo Steel offers services in hardfacing for various industries, including earthmoving, mining, demolition, materials processing, and civil works. We provide a strong hardfacing option which helps prolong the life of high-wear equipment. Hardfacing is the application of thick coatings of hard, wear-resistant materials on a surface that is subject to deterioration. Thermal spraying, spray and fuse method, and welding are among the processes in making the hardfacing layer.
Milo Steel uses tungsten carbide embedment method in hardfacing. In this process, tungsten carbide is embedded in a matrix of hardfacing weld metal. The carbide granules are held in place as the welded metal binds them to the wear part. The carbide granules are delivered onto the molten weld pool at precise intervals before freezing. The process results in a weld body that has up to ten times better wear life than previous hardfacing alloys.
