Milo Steel was commissioned by amusement park rides manufacturer Mack Rides GmbH & Co KG to provide the Joker sign for DC Rivals Hypercoaster in Warner Bros. Movie World. The project consists of the steel frame that forms the face of the DC Comics villain and the supporting beams. The components are joined by 6mm CFW category SP welding and include the required drain and vent holes for galvanising. The 13-metre steel frame sits 70 metres atop the ride’s highest lift hill and is the hypercoaster’s most prominent detail that is visible from the Gold Coast’s major highways.
DC Rivals Hypercoaster is regarded as the longest, fastest, and tallest hypercoaster in Australia. Launched in 2017, the Batmobile-like train runs at 115 km/h along the 1.4-kilometre track. The experience peaks at its 61.6-metre lift hill dubbed as the Joker’s Lair which takes patrons on an 89-degree vertical drop.
